
An plating line is an efficient and intelligent production process that realizes automatic electroplating treatment on product surfaces. The production flow of the plating line is described in detail below.
Raw Material Preparation Prepare materials required for electroplating, including metal substrates, electroplating solutions, cleaning agents, pretreatment agents, etc. All these materials shall undergo quality inspection to ensure compliance with production requirements.
Production Preparation Complete production preparation before the production line starts operation. This includes setting and adjusting equipment parameters and checking equipment status to guarantee normal operation of facilities. Meanwhile, prepare required tooling and fixtures and configure them according to product specifications. Arrange operators and provide relevant training to ensure personnel master key operation points.
Cleaning and Pretreatment Feed metal substrates into cleaning tanks. Cleaning agents are applied to remove surface contaminants such as grease and dust. After cleaning, transfer substrates to pretreatment tanks for deoxidation and rust removal, so as to obtain cleaner substrate surfaces.
Coating and Impregnation Upon completion of cleaning and pretreatment, send substrates into impregnation tanks for dehydration and strengthening treatment to improve coating performance. Then transfer substrates to coating tanks to deposit thin metal films such as copper or nickel onto substrate surfaces. After coating, remove excess coating via rotating drums or brushing methods.
Electroplating Feed precoated substrates into electroplating tanks for electroplating treatment. The electroplating tanks contain one or more types of metal plating solutions, such as copper plating solution and nickel plating solution. Under electric current, ionized metal ions from the plating solution are reduced and deposited onto the substrate surface to form a metallic layer. The thickness and uniformity of the metal layer can be controlled by setting specific electroplating time and current parameters.
Posttreatment Posttreatment procedures are required after electroplating, including rinsing, film stripping and drying. In the rinsing process, purified water is used to flush substrates and remove residual plating solution. The filmstripping procedure removes the covering film on the electroplated layer for a smoother surface. Drying equipment evaporates moisture completely from substrate surfaces to achieve thorough drying.
Inspection and Packaging Products after posttreatment shall undergo quality inspection, covering appearance evaluation, thickness measurement, adhesion test and other items. Only products meeting specified quality standards can proceed to packaging. Moistureproof and shockproof packaging methods are generally adopted to preserve product integrity and quality.
Recordkeeping and Data Analysis Massive data are generated during production on the plating line. Relevant data shall be recorded and analyzed. Such data can be used for adjustment and optimization of process parameters, as well as quality tracing and fault troubleshooting.
