What Are the Core Components of Electroplating Equipment?

The core components of electroplating equipment run through the entire production process. Equipment of different types features distinct core configurations, which are mainly categorized into the following groups:

I. Basic Core Components

1. Electroplating Tank
As the core carrier of electroplating processes, it is fabricated from corrosion-resistant materials such as PP and stainless steel to hold electroplating solution. Equipped with auxiliary parts including anode baskets and conducting bars, it serves as the fundamental unit for electrochemical reactions.

2. Rectifier (Power Supply)
It supplies stable direct current for electroplating. As critical equipment to regulate current density and guarantee uniform plating layers, it exerts a direct impact on the crystal quality of coatings.

3. Electroplating Anode
Typified by titanium-based insoluble anodes coated with precious metal oxide layers, they feature low oxygen evolution overpotential and superior corrosion resistance, suitable for high current density working conditions. They act as the key component supplying metal ions to the plating bath.

4. Rack / Hanger
It secures workpieces to be plated and ensures stable electrical conduction between parts and cathodes. It directly determines coating uniformity and production efficiency, and can be customized according to workpiece shapes.

II. Process Guarantee Core Components

1.Filter Machine
It continuously circulates and filters plating solution to remove impurities, preventing burrs and pinholes on coatings. It is indispensable equipment to maintain cleanliness of the plating bath.

2.Temperature Control & Agitation Device
Composed of heating/cooling modules, cathode moving mechanisms and air agitation assemblies, it precisely regulates plating solution temperature and enhances fluidity of the bath, improving coating brightness and throwing power.

III. Supporting Core Systems

1.Pure Water Equipment for Coating & Electroplating
It produces high-purity process water via reverse osmosis, EDI and other technologies, meeting water quality standards for bath preparation and workpiece rinsing to avoid impurity contamination of plating solution.

2.Environmental Protection Auxiliary Equipment
Including wastewater treatment units and acid mist purification towers, these account for over 30% of total investment. They are mandatory core configurations to meet environmental compliance standards and cannot be omitted.

Core component configurations vary greatly among electroplating production lines of different scales. Small manual lines only require basic core components, while fully automatic production lines are additionally fitted with intelligent modules such as PLC control systems and automatic chemical dosing systems to further boost operational stability.
